FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What types of construction and refurbishment work do you undertake?
We undertake a range of residential and commercial construction works, including extensions, alterations, refurbishments, internal reconfiguration and property improvement projects.
The scope can vary from individual packages of work to more comprehensive project delivery involving coordination of multiple trades and construction stages.
How do you prepare a quotation for construction work?
We first review the project requirements, drawings, specifications and available site information. Depending on the project, a site visit may also be required to understand existing conditions and the proposed scope of work.
We then prepare a quotation based on the agreed scope, specification and information available. Where appropriate, exclusions, assumptions and particular allowances will be identified so that the basis of the quotation is clear.
How long will my construction project take?
Construction timescales depend on the size and complexity of the project, site conditions, specification, availability of materials and the sequence of different trades.
Once the scope is sufficiently defined, we can establish an anticipated programme and key stages for the works. The programme can then be reviewed as the project progresses.
Can I make changes after construction has started?
Changes can often be accommodated during construction, but they may affect the cost, programme and work already completed or ordered.
We recommend discussing proposed changes as early as possible so that their practical, technical and financial implications can be considered before proceeding.
Can I remain in the property while the work is being carried out?
This depends on the extent and nature of the construction work. For smaller or isolated works it may be possible to remain in the property, while major refurbishment or structural work may make this impractical for certain stages.
We can discuss access, safety, temporary facilities and sequencing before work begins so that suitable arrangements can be considered.
How do you manage quality and progress during construction?
We coordinate the sequence of works, contractors and trades while monitoring progress against the project requirements and programme. Key stages are reviewed as construction progresses, with issues identified and addressed as early as practicable.
Our approach focuses on clear communication, practical site coordination and maintaining appropriate standards of workmanship throughout the project.
